Theory of Change

8-10 October 2012

There has been a recent upsurge of interest in Theories of Change. Donors are increasingly requiring grantees to provide ToCs to accompany their proposals. Those organisations who have already developed a Theory of Change have found that the process and the product can provide greater clarity for communication, planning and M&E; enhance partner relationships and support organisational development.

This new course gives participants a solid understanding of what Theories of Change are; how they complement other planning processes; and how they can be applied to organisations and to programmes. The course will build participants’ skills in developing a Theory of Change for their own organization or programme, and offers an opportunity to experiment with developing elements of a Theory of Change.

In order to support the application of learning to the workplace, we encourage organisations to consider sending more than one participant.
